Selling Bus to La Mesa

Has anyone sold an RV to La Mesa RV. This is a sale not a trade.

What was you experience?

It doesn't matter who you sell to as long as their check doesn't bounce. Dealer makes an offer, customer accepts or rejects offer. Same with the car dealer. Last week my dealer offered me more than I paid for my 2018 Denali. Friends sold their motorhome to their dealer for $7000 more than they paid. It's a crazy market. Selling to a dealer means they think they can sell it for more than they paid you so possibly you could do that yourself, but do you want to go thru all that work or just take the easy money?

We called their special number to sell our mh to them. They made an offer, we countered, they accepted. We brought our mh to Tucson La Mesa for inspection. The buyer had two checks. Payoff and our cut. Signed a few papers and left. They handled the rest. Mh was driven to Albuquerque for a buyer. Easy sale.

We sold our '14 Open Road to LaMesa (San Diego). They sent inspector to Houston to inspect RV and complete transaction. Easy!

Inspection tookess than 30 min - no issues. Inspector called office to have them wire funds. In about 2 hrs, funds were in my account and confirmed with my bank. I signed title and docs, and inspector rolled out of my driveway.

I highly recommended a private sale (try for 2 weeks)- typically you will get another 5-10% on one of those opposed to a dealer

Yes, you will likely get more money from a private sale, but that may not be your main concern. Selling to a dealer, and La Mesa seems to have a good track record on purchases, will be simple and fast but at a lesser price. That is the trade-off. In today's market, dealer price offers may be more favorable than in "normal" times when only dealer wholesale prices were offered to customers, but whatever the amount, it will be less that a private party sale.

Speed and comfort, sell to the dealer. Time and effort with more return, sell privately.
