Unhappy Shade switches not working in one direction

Hello, we are parked in Indio for another week and our shade switches are not working properly. They seem to work only one direction. House batteries are showing charged. Could the switch be bad? If so, what can we do?
We will visit the FMCA rally but not be parked there.
Thank you.

You probably do have a defective switch as most of the motors are 12 volt dc and you only reverse the leads to the motor to reverse direction. You could have a loose wire on the back of the switch but I would suspect the switch. An easy fix if you can find a replacement.

How many switches are involved?

If two are doing the same thing I'd be surprised if it's the switches themselves and would lean more to a connection problem.

Hi, it is both switches. Hubby is trying to 'see' behind the panel but I think it is hard to tell unless there is an obvious loose connection...argh...

If it is the automotion brand it could be the motors. I changed out one already and the other one is messing up. I feel I am playing Russian Roulette everytime I try my switches.

It is an Automation Shade brand. Just spoke to Tiffin and I ordered via Next day delivery of both switches. Will try this first. We are afraid to run the shades down in case it won't go up.
It was down 3/4s of the way down last night and wouldn't go back up, but it raised up this morning...go figure.

I had a similar problem with just the night shade. The wires run up the drivers side trim cover beside the windshield and when it was built they ran a screw through the wires and cut a majority of the strands of copper. It worked fine for over a year and decided one day to quit. I twisted the wire back together and wrapped with electrical tape.
