Shower and hot water system

I just went on the first real trip in my new motorhome (actually it's 2013 Allegro Open Road 32CA but barely used). Everything worked except the shower. I turned on and slid the button on the shower head but there was not a single drop of water coming out. Did I forget to do something?

Second question: how do you turn the water heater on? Is it electrically ignited or pilot-type operation. I read the manuals, both the owner's manual and individual appliance manual but there is no place to tell me how to get hot water. I did go through orientation with salesman but it went so fast and was quite a while ago. Please show me steps on how to check different components. Thanks.

Is there water coming out of the other faucets? If not, turn the water pump on. If yes, you could have air in the lines.

Most water heaters are both gas and electric. I don't know on your specific coach, but there is usually a switch inside that allows you to turn the water heater on gas. If you want electric, you have to find it on the outside, remove the cover and turn the switch on.

That's all considering that it has been dewinterized and the bypass valves are in the right position.

I have water coming out at kitchen sink, outdoor shower, and toilet. The water heater bypass valve is in "Normal" position. I have tried both city water and tank supply. Turn water on, hear it running then stop.

The only thing I can think of is that shower line is kinked somewhere. When you say "hear it running", is it the water pump you hear? Remove the shower head to see if it flows.

Your shower head may have a shut off either a push button or a twist type on the end of the shower head. Don't turn your water heater on until you are sure it is full of water the electric element will burn out faster than you can turn it off. Half the fun of a new coach is figuring out how things work.

If you can't find a shut off on the shower head, is it on a hose that attaches to the faucet? If so, unscrew hose at the faucet to be sure water is flowing that far. If still no water, then check in outside compartments for a water manifold that distributes all hot and cold water and check to see if valves to shower are turned off at that point.

The OP did say that he slid the button on the shower head.

You do have the hot and cold water valves at the base where the hose connects on correct? When mine was new I had an issue with kitchen faucet and took the airator off the end and it was plugged with , what I think was the plastic remnants of drilling the holes in the fresh water tank. Take the hose off at the faucet and turn the water on. That will eliminate the hose shut off.

Check in your wet bay to make sure that you don't have the winterization bypass valve in the wrong position.
