Slide out no slide out
Just joined this forum. Have seen helpful advice here so figured I'd give it a try. Recently bought our 1st motorhome, a 2006 Tiffin Alegro Bay 37ft. The living room slide will not go out. Can hear it clutching (like a gear is slipping) but does not move. Had it out partially out when it started. It would retract easily but when I tried to extend it just made the clutching noise. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
You are joining a good group of folks here with good info to share. Read the various threads and ask questions as they come up or add info if you can.
You might want to post this question on the Tiffin forum here for some help. Have you tried resetting the system?
Good luck and enjoy the adventure!

Is the slide out hydraulic or electric?

If your hearing sounds like clutch slipping thenmit must be electric motor.
Now given what your saying I would guess either something jamming the slide or the room is oit of square. Open it as far as you can and measure. If its not coming out square then you have your problem.

Slide is all the way in now. Called local mobile RV guy who is checking it out this Sat. This one is above my pay-grade. Thanks for all the suggestions.

If that is a rack and pinion gear slide, a common problem is the bolts in the shaft shear off. If that's the case, replace them with a higher grade of bolt.

Just an update. Turns out the gears and bearings in the motor were shot. Bought a new one on Amazon and installed it. Works now. Learned if the gears are bad in the motor, slideout will not move manually. Thanks for all the input.

Glad you could get it repaired and thank you for updating us. You are correct about it not moving. Some of those gear motors have a built in brake and it may have a way to manually disengage the brake so you could move the slide manually.
