Slide room controller location 2017 Phaeton 40AH

Having problem retracting the rear DS slide. Comes in crooked with front end staying out nearly a foot. Have tried the re synching procedure from the inside Spyder control, no luck. Does anyone know where I might find the controller box that is supposedly located in a cabinet or outside storage bin? Hubby has checked everywhere we have seen mentioned but apparently every model has a different location. We are supposed to check out of this CG in the am and don’t really want to drive with the slide sticking out! We are headed for Red Bay for some other things, but it’s a few hundred miles away. Help?

Newmar Owner here. Had the same search problem couple weeks ago. Searched forEVER. Ours are in the electrical cord bay (shore power bay).

Have to stick head all the way inside bay, look up towards ceiling, all the way, and then the slide controllers are right on the wall of the bay that is now right over your neck.

Impossible to see without being IN the bay almost shoulder deep and on your back.

Hope that at least helps you branch out in your exploration tactics!

The controller are usually on the PS in a compartment. They will be mounted on a wall in a compartment toward the rear of the coach. They’re small white boxes, easy to miss.

Hi, thanks for the response. After checking the electric bay and no luck we launched another more thorough search and found it—guess where— in a Passenger side bay! Never really thought to give that side more than a cursory look. But to no avail, resetting still didn’t work and we were resigned to driving to Red Bay with the slide hanging out. As we were backing out of our campsite to leave this morning a guy was going by on his golf cart and asked if we needed help with getting our slide in. Turned out he was an RV tech from LA on vacation!! That guy had tools , knowledge and most of all persistence. Took a while, working in the rain, but he found that one motor was somehow not even connected, got the slide in and refused to take anything but a thank you! I’m sure an angel must have sent him. So we’re still heading to Red Bay but with more peace of mind as we drive. Sorry so long but thought it an interesting story with a good ending. Thanks again.

Glad you got it fixed. Wires disconnecting at the motors is a frequent complaint. It happened to us at RB. Took techs about an hour to find it. They replaced the controllers, crawled under the bed looking for shorts. Which was sort of comical because the tech got stuck under there and they had to pull him out
