Slide sagging in the middle...why?

Replaced my slide toppers last week and noticed the top of the drivers side front slide out was sagging in the middle.About 1/2to3/4 inch.


2009 42 Phaeton


Anyone see this and what was the fix??


No noticeable blunt force tramma

Had a good soaker the other day after installing the new toppers.

The real answer is that it is not structurally strong enough to support its own weight, especially taking into consideration it's being bounced down the road for however many thousands of miles you have on the coach.

My best suggestion is to build a support pole that can be put between the floor and the ceiling of the slide that will support the ceiling while traveling, then take it out while parked.

Tiffin did repair a number of slide out roofs by adding steel to the roof structure of the slide. This was done under warranty back in the 2012-2014 time frame. The slide was removed and the box reinforced.
