Something beeping!

Hi all. I have a situation that is making us nuts. Maybe one of you have had it?? We have a 2000 Allegro Bus pusher with 3 slides. My better half keeps hearing a faint beeping that she swears is coming from the small storage cabinets above the fireplace, next to the sink. The tv, fireplace, sink, stove, and microwave are all in the slide. The fridge is not. I wear hearing aids and can't hear a thing. I am sure it is there if she hears it. There is nothing electronic up there that can be seen. We have looked in all basement areas and all areas in an around these two cabinets. This includes the panel above the passenger seat, dash, tv, under sink, everything I can think of. It is still there even when all 12V and 110 is shut down. Makes me think it must have a battery. The only place she hears it is in these two storage cabinets. Therefore, I have to think it is in the wall somewhere. But there is no sound on the outside!

I am not senile yet, but this has me dumbfounded. Any thoughts???

Thank you much,
Mike

I would locate all the usual suspects... smoke alarm, co2 and LPG detectors and check them. And then the refrigerator door may have an alarm and possibly the washer/dryer.

Sometimes the location can be deceiving.

And the device may have a rechargeable battery in it so disconnecting the the 12v may not make a difference.
Good luck.

I walked past my RV while walking the dogs yesterday and had a beeping noise, it was coming from my Awning control box mounted in one of the cargo bays, it was cold that morning and when it warmed up it stopped, while reading the troubleshooting guide, it will beep with there is something wrong with the wind sensor. My theory is the cold weather was causing it to beep.

sometimes beeping too

I have a 2009 32' open road with about 11,000 mi. Sometimes while driving down the road we will here beeping from the rear of the MH. It will beep for a few seconds, stop, then start again. This will happen anywhere from 15min to an hour or so, then stop. I think its the LPG detector, sensing something in the air, and it dose not do it all the time. Its located in the bedroom slide, facing the rear and at floor level, so I can't check it while driving. We have just learned to live with it, and everything seems to be OK. Go figure!! Hope that helps

LPG detectors have a rather short lifespan, and they are easy to replace (plug and play). Rather than ignoring a safety warning system it would seem prudent to just replace the thing, they are rather inexpensive.

Since it only happens when you're on the road, it could be an exhaust leak. Exhaust fumes will set off an LP detector.
