Starlink Setup

We have a 2025 Tiffin Bus with a Starlink mounted on the roof from Tiffin. I need to activate it and need some help.
I have the power supply and router plugged in and the router is setup, can see it on all devices. No internet at this point, and no documentation from Tiffin in my set of manuals.
I down loaded the Starlink app on my android phone, it's working.

How do I setup a Starlink account with user name and password. Tried to do it online but it wants a device id number. I looked on the power supply and router and there are no device numbers. Where do I get the number? Any way to get it from the software? Is it on the roof antenna? Too old to climb up there to take a look, plus wife will kill me.'

Any help would be appreciated. I'm in Monument Valley with no cell or internet and need it.

Thanks!

Should be able to create your account then go to support in the app and should be able to set it all up from there. The app should recognize that there’s a unit close by. It’s been 10 months since I got mine but don’t remember needing anything off the hardware the phone and app did it all pretty much automatically and quickly.

Laser, we just did ours. You probably don't have your antenna pointed correctly. Download the app to your phone, then connect to your StarLink wifi. The app will tell you how to orient your antenna (hopefully motorized on top). Make sure your line of site to the NORTH is clear. Most satellite systems point south, but StarLink is optimized for north. We have been using ours for a few months and love it. All the best,

Go to Starllink.com and create your account before you try to activate. There you enter your equipment MAC numbers then when you power up the router and antenna it is recognized.

There's no pointing a roof mounted antenna, it's just pointed straight up.

Starlink will not let me start a new account without the Starlink ID number. Any way to get it without getting on the roof, it may be on the antenna.
I have no documentation from Tiffin on the Starlink. :(

I just looked at mine. All the numbers are tucked up where the cables attach so unless they mounted it in a way that easily lets you take it off and flip it over not sure climbing on the roof will even help you. There has to be a way the router recognizes what antenna you have right? Maybe call Tiffin see if they have a build sheet with some more info. Our ‘23 open road came with a huge binder that had all this kind of stuff in it. With that said, Starlink didn’t come with any paperwork or anything it was all digital so they’d have to write it down somewhere.

Check your appliance build sheet. Tiffin normally puts all serial and model numbers on it.

See if you can get the starlink app to connect. You can get router and dish serial numbers from that. Id you don't see it on the normal screens look for advanced or debugging info.

First, thanks to all who responded, great to have your support, especially in the middle of the Navajo Nation in Monument Valley, AZ.
I finally have Starlink up and running. The Kit Number should have been on the Appliance Build Sheet or on the Thumb Drive, but it wasn't. I found a non-descript plastic bag with a cable and a 1.5"x2" piece of cardboard that was cut off the side of the Starlink Kit. It had the correct Kit Number.
Entering the number let me 1st setup a Starlink account and pay for the 1st month. Then setup a Password from their setup email.
Now start the android app, setup the router and finally the dish. Had to give it about 5 minutes for everything to do a handshake. Then PRESTO, internet connection in the middle of Monument Valley!
btw... I've been a pro photographer for about 65 years and had the time of my life yesterday. Spent about 6 hours in my jeep wrangler shooting the park. Best $8.00 I ever spent.

As a photographer (not pro anymore), Monument Valley is awesome! While you are on RT 261 headed towards Natural Bridges National Monument, you will see a small sign on the right for Valley of the Gods. It's an 18 mile loop and you will take hundreds of photos; it's beautiful.

Starlink

Download the app on your phone, then follow setup directions. Very simple. I did it this summer. Fast and easy.

You don’t need anything from the dish.

Download the Starlink app to your phone.

Park your RV outside in clear view of the sky. You don’t say which Dish you have, mini, Gen3, or Mobile but the process is the same for all the dishes except for how they plug in. Make sure everything is connected and power it up.

Connect to your star link WiFi in settings. Go into the Starlink app. Your dish will show up and will have all its numbers available. Create a new account for the selected dish and it will activate. I didn’t have to type any dish numbers. It got them from the dish when I selected it to activate.

Most people expect it to be complicated and look for it to be so. It isn’t.

We, also, have a '25 Bus OPP in which the Starlink would not connect to the satellites. Come to find out the Tiffin installation in the cabinet above the driver's seat was not connected correctly. I don't remember which plug it was, but the cable into, I think, the router was connected into the wrong receptacle. Once I changed that, it all started to work.

Also, I received a replacement page from Tiffin to insert into the Starlink portion of the information set of manuals. Based on my memory, the two plugs in that cabinet should be unplugged when the Bus is not in use. We keep ours in a garage when not traveling. It seems that the Starlink uses quite a bit of electricity and when the RV is not in use, it could really drag down the batteries, meaning, if no external power is being used the batteries could become dead rather quickly. It would be interesting to know another technique such as a circuit breaker to disable the Starlink without pulling plugs.

One final note. Having been up on the roof I've noticed that the Starlink antenna gets pretty warm, maybe even more than just warm. The roof area under the antenna felt warm as well. Another Starlink owner suggested that the app had a setting to turn the warm capability off and on, and is used for snow removal. Dunno. At least, I don't see that setting on my Starlink Apple version of the app.

Starlink

I have the same year and model that you have. I had the same problem. I found the the cable going from the power supply to the router was plugged into the wrong port on the router. It was plugged into the network port on one side and it should have been plugged into the center port on the router. When I did that everything worked.
