Steps

2017 phaeton 40qbh. Steps

Strange all of a sudden the step are not working correctly. Now when I cranked the motorhome the steps go out and stay out instead of coming in like supposed to. Anyone have a solution to this?
The only thing I did between the time they were working correctly is remove the door locking mechanism up top cause it was sagging real bad and ordered a new one, but I left it off untill the new one gets here.

TIA

Did you by chance remove the door contacts for the stairs in the door frame. If not, it could be that the module is bad. If you would like to reach out to us, we will need to know what type of steps you have to troubleshoot and determine if parts are needed. You should have either the Kwik or Lippert steps. Our number here is 256-356-0261 and please speak with our tech support team.

Or removing the door locking mechanism because of a sag, changed the alignment of the door contacts.

Just talk to lippert and they said it's the motor going bad. Possible reverse polarity. Got one ordered
