We have a new to us 2011 Phaeton with nice big sliding windows. Problem is some of them are almost impossible to open and close, especially the slanted driver’s side window. Has anyone else had this problem and have you found a solution? We’ve sprayed the channels with silicone spray, which kind of works for a short time, but I’m tired of breaking fingernails trying to open and close windows!

Tiffin recommends the use of Plexus on the windows. In addition to using it on the window channels, you need to clean the window glass well and spray it on the glass as well, then wipe it off, polishing the glass. Frequently it is the glass causing most of the drag and not the channels.

I had a problem with a couple of mine. It is a 2013 bought used two years ago. I use Plexus, always have on both motorcycles and airplanes. One thing I found recently is my living room window would not open more than a couple of inches. I cleaned the channels, used Plexus, but it was still tight. I then removed the screen and gently forced it open and left it for a day. It now slides easy enough. My conclusion is that the seals either swell or just get stiff from NOT using the windows regularly. Since then I make a point to fully open them a couple of times a week when the weather is cooperative and they all seem to work fine now.

Some of the sliding windows on our 2019 Allegro RED 33AA are difficult to move and I would like to try the Plexus treatment. However, I could not see an easy way to remove the glass to treat the glass edges.
Ken, you don't need to do the edges, just the surface of the glass so that it will be lubricated and slide past the stationary window - that's where most of the friction occurs.

This is correct. When I say I cleaned the channels, I just used a toothbrush to remove any obvious dirt and debris. The Plexus part is just on the window itself just like you are cleaning the glass.
