Swamp water smell

In our new to us 2013 open road 34qfa, we have swamp water coming out of the galley faucet….
However, both the shower and bathroom faucets give us perfect water
Did the water/bleach system sanitize
Galley still has the odor issue
Any input?..

Clean out the 'p' trap
Check if 'smell' is from the Air Admittance Valve on sink drain line after 'p' trap....if stuck open you are smelling the galley tank odors
**AAVs just screw onto stub pipe. Available at most any hardware store

We had the same issue in our bath vanity. I re-sanitized the lines leading to the vanity and let them soak for several hours. Swamp smell gone.

Also had a funk smell from the Dometic 320 porcelain toilet. I sanitized it by filling the bowl almost plumb full with bleach water and letting it soak. Smell gone.

Thought about the vacuum breaker, however the smell is the water from the faucet….filled a glass and sniffed it
I plan on redoing the sanitizing process before the next trip
Was wondering if the galley has a hidden water filter somewhere?….

Drain and sanitize your water system including the hot water heater. Use bleach at the recommended concentrations and rinse well after letting it sanitize for a couple of hours.

If you are not traveling constantly and the motorhome sits for a couple weeks to months at a time, drain your hot water heater and water tank between trips.

Normal procedure for us
I think the issue was created by the dealer we bought it from
The coach sat for several months with water standing in the system

Don’t forget to sanitize the water hose as well.

Strongly suggest you do NOT have to do that!!!

Do you have a reason why draining the water tank and HWH is not required? No water means no bacteria that causes the smell.
