Switching to AGM batteries- questions

I’ve been contemplating switching out my lead acid batteries for AGM’s. If you read my post below I may need new batteries anyway.

Is it as simple as just switching them out? Or does the inverter have a setting for battery type that needs to be changed? I have the 2,000 watt pure sine inverter in my 34pa. I read the inverter manual and can’t find anything regarding this. I know that I have a setting on my solar controller for battery type.

AGM are acid based batteries just like the Lead batteries
The AGM battery uses an absorbent glass mat that absorbs the battery acid making it have a maximum surface area for the electrolyte to touch the plates without it flooding the battery with too much fluid.

Your battery 'charger' will work just fine

Your inverter/charger probably has 2 setting for AGM batteries, one setting for Lifeline AGM and a second setting for all other AGM batteries.
There are suttle changes in the charging profile between Flooded and AGM.

Download the instructions for your inverter/charger remote panel. It will all be explained.
