Taking delivery of a new 36LA and hitting the road

We have been out of the RV gig for over 10 years. But, we take delivery of our new Tiffin in mid-June and then we will drive 1100 miles north after spending a couple of days at the dealers campground. How many problems do these new coaches normally have? Would you recommend a longer layover? What is usually the biggest issue with this brand upon delivery. THANKS! Mark

We took delivery of the 13 Bus on Jan 16. Left the dealer that afternoon, and was home in DE that night. Three nights at home loading it up and we departed for AZ. Three days later we were in Tucson. Spent the next 2 1/2 months moving around the southwest. Yes we had some issues but we were able to work around them (and found a few new ones). On the way home, we stopped at Red Bay and got things all squared away. When we got home to Delaware we had 11,000 miles on the clock. Run 'em hard. They work best when well used, especially Tiffins.

JMHO. I have no idea how many problems you may find , but I would think that 2 days might cover it ; but rather than sitting for the whole time I'd plan a 150 mile road test and return on the first day. Making notes along the way, may require booking into the chassis makers shop for some work, if what you find can't be handled at Tiffin.

I would plan for two full days but allow for more. When we picked ours up the we had a problem with the rear toilet. The dealer looked at it and immediately ordered a new one but it took two additional days to get it and have it installed. We stayed a full week but it was because we took their drivers course and had a lot of questions on how every thing worked and were on no hurry to leave. They were more than accommodating.
As far as what problems to expect, none by the time you leave the dealer. Just try everything out, awning, jacks, slides, baths, generator, air, heat, etc. Other than the initial toilet issue we have had zero problems and one annoyance. Had to keep adjusting the entry door but I think I have got that fixed.
These are great RVs, I'm sure you'll be happy with your choice.

Oh, one more thing. Have them FULLY explain how the TV/Home Theater works. It is fairly complicated and took me a month of trial and error to get it figured out. Still don't know all of it.
