Tankless water heater question?????
We've just ordered a 2014 40QBH and opted for the tankless hot water system. The literature doesn't say what type heater this is. My question is what type system will we get.... an LP unit like the residential Rinnai unit or the AquaHot (HydroHot) system? Haven't asked the dealer yet but figured I'd get a faster response from you Tiffin folks. Thanks!!!

I have a 2013 40' phaeton and I love the tankless hot water system. I uses less LP then the tank type and best of all you can soak up a hot, hot, hot shower as long as you please. The unit doesn't take up as much space as a tank. A little trick is to fool it into thinking your ready for hot water, just turn on a hot faucet to the slowest trickle you can. The heater starts on a pressure drop system, so when you need the hot, hot, hot, water it is right there. So when I'm getting ready to shower I'll trickle the hot water in the sink. Enjoy your new MH, we love ours.

Thanks
Thanks guys.
Dewat, this answered my question. Looks like an industrial strength Rinnai system which will be great vs our old 6 gallon. This will suit our needs much better than the Hydrohot since room heat is not a big deal for us here in the south.

Yes precision temp RV 550. Do yourself a favor and have them change your order to a suburban water heater with a tank. I've had the precision temp tankless for a couple of years now. Nothing but trouble. FWIW.

My 2011 42 QBH has a tankless water heater and it has been trouble free. We are full timers. Hope I just didn't jinx myself. On the other hand the Suburban WH in my last coach burned up! I would not go back to a standard WH. The Aqua Hot would be on my next coach. It is an option on the 2014 Phaeton along with the heated tile floor, which I would most definitely order. Are you sure about ordering a QBH? I was led to believe they are only making the LH now in a 42.

Thanks
Thanks for the positive review.... I was getting a little worried. I have read that the 550 is a new design with more BTU's.
We did order the QBH in a 40', not 42'. We love the plan and got the heated floors. Didn't opt for the Aqua Hot, but I now wish we had. Unit was ordered in November and is scheduled to arrive the week of Feb 3rd.

Didn't open both eyes to read the "40" not "42"… my bad. You will love your new coach, but get ready for those annoying first year issues. Just be prepared for it and you won't be surprised.

Can the Aqua Hot be installed by a fairly handy M/H owner? I have a 2012 Tiffin Red 34. Thanks, Dan

Probably, if all you are going to use it for is water heating. Obviously if you wanted to heat the coach with it also, the install would be MUCH more difficult - running hot water lines to several locations along with installing the radiator/fan units to disburse the heat.
Oasis makes a smaller unit which would make a retrofit install that much easier.

It would truly be a "tankless task"!
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

tankless
We are real close to buying a m/h Tiffin is at the top of the list.We found a 2008 Phaeton 42' with tag,but it has a 11 gal tank we will be full timers.
My questions is can a tankless hot water be added or is that something that is not advised to do? We can keep looking. Also we see that most of the tag axel in Tiffin are back radiator not side.Is this a issues with cost when having service. For the money we have budgeted for m/h Tiffin fits the grade, also we hear great reviews. We will be full time want quality.
Thanks. Tim
