Tiffin Breeze

i am looking at 2013 to 2015 Tiffin Breeze with Maxxforce 275 HP engine. I see many negative posts on google. can i get real world input?

If by “real world” you mean inputs from actual owners, it’s out there on Google. If you want confirmation that the Maxxforce 7 is not an issue, you will find that as well. IMO, decisions on this engine should be made by the preponderance of evidence, but like many things, people do not report when things are working properly. If you ask for positive reports, you will get them.

I considered a Maxxforce 7 coach when I first was looking. I read literally hundreds of posts from rv owners, truck owners, and industry publications. I also researched the cause of the issues and spoke with some local diesel shop mechanics. I made the decision not to go with that engine. That was my decision, and I would not want anyone to think it should be their decision. I would, however, advise them to research the engine, as you are doing, until they become comfortable with whatever choice they make.

Seen my 1st Breeze when walkin my dog in FL SP. Owners asked me in to check it out. Went back and told DW Id found our future downsized coach....and it was still a Cass A DP. Had been thinking it would be a ....OMG.... Gasser.
Spent that year doin my do diligence on the little Breeze. Spoke with many current owner's. Then I heard about the 5.0LT Cummins comin. Which held promise of not gettin a International power plant. So I waited, as I been ridin in front of a Cummins all my RVin days.
Well not be one to product test stuff, I waited to see how it goes with the little V8.
All this to say, Im sure glad we kept the short bus

I enjoyed reading your comments "on the little Breeze",with the5.OLT Cummins. I live in Sun City Hilton Head and have been looking for a small solid get-away motorhome. I am a widow with experience in the passenger seat but am looking forward to the open road.

I own a 2010 IH box truck with a maxxforce. Bought it from Ryder in 2015 with 150k and was a lease for medical equipment. Still have it today. Had 2 pages of PM’s and repairs. Worst repair on the 2 pages was a fuel pump and a couple injectors. Not sure about a 2013+, but a 2010 uses fuel to clean the filter, no DEF. Cost about 5k to go through the whole system, includes “cooking”, cleaning the filter. The other problem was the connector going to the fuel pump, wire was broke at the connector. The performance is not bad for a box truck, better than a gasser. Fuel mileage is about 10. It was governed at 67 mph, had it turned up to 75. Other than the hit with the smog filter, it’s not that bad of a truck. It works everyday in town and in state. Regularly hauls 12k (6 skids of paper) and does it pretty well. I do know now there’s a lot of bad reviews on the earlier models like mine, and Ryder or Me had no idea the smog system was going down. If I would have done my research beforehand would it have changed my purchase, possibly. Staying with diesel, a 2010 box truck with Cummins at 150k cost is considerably more than the IH. If it wasn’t the IH, it would of been a gasser for the money. Still today, it wasn’t a bad buy, makes me money everyday, can’t really complain.

Too each his own. My suggestion is to go look at school bus sites for reviews of engine. The early engines had problems with erg systems. A fix was put in around 2014. If looking at used question if fix was installed. If not done I would stay away from unit. jMHO

Big investment so do your due diligence
