Question Tiffin Breeze Chassis Condenser Fan not cycling

I have a 2012 Tiffin Allegro Breeze 32BR. The condenser fan is not cycling, therefore the AC is not blowing cold. When the AC system initially starts, I am able to achieve ~51° out the duct, but as heat builds in the condenser the temperature in the duct rises as well.

I have confirmed that the condenser fan is operational by unplugging it from its harness and giving it 12V directly. I have also checked all the fuses that I could locate.

I believe there is a pressure switch somewhere that sends power to the fan. I am hoping that one of you can tell me where that pressure switch is located. If you happen to have a system schematic, that would be helpful too.

Thanks!

Welcome to iRV2 .

Could you add some additional info about your coach .

What chassis is it built on ?
Any info on what dash system Tiffin used in your coach ? Evans ? Denso ?

My Evans system used the same pressure switch that cycles the compressor clutch to signal a relay that powers the fan from a separate fused source from the control head.

The chassis is a Tiffin Powerglide. I do not know the make of the AC unit they used. I believe I have located the fan relay (through a post on Tiffin Owners Network). I will do more trouble shooting and report back.

If your condenser fan is not running, your compressor probably isn't working either. First thing I would check is the refrigerant level. Pressure switch is normally located in the low side compressor line.

AC Compressor is operating as is the remainder of the AC system. Please see my opening question that includes additional detail. As a work around for travels in July, I hard wired the fan to operate continuously. The AC system worked fine that way, I just had to remember to turn off the fan when I got to my destination.

I will fix this issue and post the remedy once completed. Thanks.

Page three in this pdf give wiring info in the Evans system if that's what you have .
Condenser fan has a separate power source and a relay to cycle it .

Skip426, thank you for the schematic. It is helpful. I will be investigating the system this coming weekend and will report back. Thanks again!

Smile Problem Solved

Thanks all for the assistance. Problem was a bad relay. Condenser fan system seems to be wired like the schematic provided by Skip426 (thank you). I was able to locate the relay, tested it and confirmed it was bad, bought a new relay at O'Reilly Auto Parts, installed and tested. Condenser fan now operates as it should.

For the 2012 Tiffin Allegro Breeze, the condenser fan relay and 20A fuse are located in the furthest back compartment on the passenger side. The compartment has a false backing board that is held in place with wing nuts. Once the backing board is removed the fuses and relays are visible and accessible. The following two pictures show the fuse/relay blocks as well as the ID of each item.
