Tiffin emblem on rear of the coach
We are planning on purchasing a new Tiffin Phaeton 40IH. Upon inspection of the unit, we noticed the rear logo/emblem is not aligned with the paint line. The right side of the TIFFIN name appears to be slightly higher than the left. Is this how it should be or is this a quality issue? Thank you!

If that's a new rig, then probably a quality control issue. If it bothers you, then you could have them remove and install new. Be prepared to spend several days at the dealer to go over EVERYTHING in and on the rig. Make sure everything is working, tight, and aligned to your satisfaction.

First off, Welcome to IRV2 and the Tiffin family!
You might measure from the top of the roof to the paint line, but I believe that is straight across making the decal out of line. I would insist that the dealer remove and replace the TIFFIN part at the least.
Congratulations on your IH. Ours is now five years old with 44,000 miles and we still love the layout and the coach.

Congrats on your potential purchase. HarryStone is spot on. From my view, looks like the Phaeton logo is crooked too, but I have astigmatism

If you call Tiffin they would most likely send you a new decal set.
They come on a sheet so it is fairly straightforward to install. The harder part is removing the old ones and getting off all the adhesive.
My 2015 32SA had the old style decals which I removed and installed the new type. I gently pried off the old ones and used rubbing alcohol and lots of elbow grease to get all of the adhesive off.

These plastic razor blades/scraper from Amazon may help with removal of the existing emblem.

You can use monofilament fishing line to remove the lettering. It's thin enough to slip between the lettering and the paint. A gentle sawing motion is all it takes. As for the adhesive, 3M makes an adhesive remover that you should be able to pick up at most autoparts stores.

You will find alot of things not perfectly aligned but that is the nature of the beast.. I installed the Tiffin 50th anniversary emblem on my rig and notice my Allegro emblem slightly off.. I would have never noticed until I took a ruler to the new emblem I was installing.. I'm sure tiffin will send you a new emblem but you might be better off installing it yourself... Knowing dealerships, It might come back looking worst then it does now.. Good luck if you purchased..

Quality control issue. Make them fix this and all other issues you discover before you close on the deal.

Decals
Yes the port side is lower and not level. Also the circle T is not centered. I guess it all depends on the individual. Some would say no problem but others will say fix it. If it was my coach I would close the deal as is and plan a trip to Red Bay in the future maybe around the 6 month time. Get all your items fixed within the first year.
If you go that route let Tiffin service know right away after purchase. Send Don Boyd in the service department with your VIIN number on a E-mail and let him know about it. It’ll be in your file.
Enjoy your rig from day one then let Tiffin take care of it. They are the experts and you will get it done the right way. I would not want to let a dealer fix it. Not worth the hassle.

Totally agree with DSSL. On our Bus Tiffin was more than nice to send us anything we showed was missing, damaged or improperly installed. I would just call Tiffin and ask for the service desk. You can send the tech a photo if needed and that will immediately send you out a sheet of new decals. I’m sure you could install yourself, probably better than the dealer could do!!

Additional issues - New 40IH
First of all, thank you all for your replies and advice. The 40IH we are planning on buying appears to have more imperfections than expected. First of all, the dealer has had it for sale for 9 months. We have not done an intensive inspection as we are not ready to sign the papers but during the walkthrough, we noticed minor things. Of course, one of them was the uneven logo on the rear of the coach which really bothers me. Another issue we found is ALL the power outlets on the counters are permanently "lifted", meaning that you cannot push them down to get a flat surface. The black plastic outlets have a metal bracket around them with screws through the plastic. Apparently, Tiffin ran out of parts during Covid (unit is almost a year old even though it is a 2022) and had to use these ugly outlets. This is what the dealer has told us. Should we be concerned about these things or is it just normal? We are upgrading from a class C, which had all types of imperfections and issues, to the Tiffin 40IH. For us, this is a HUGE investment, but we don't want to sound too picky or ask for the impossible. Thank you!
