Tiffin exterior temperature sensor location

After searching for hours with no results, I'm posting this.

I have a 2019 Tiffin Phaeton 40 QKH with Aqua Hot. I noticed that the exterior temperature reading on the Spyder panel seemed too high. To verify, I moved the bay sensor outside and confirmed that it's showing 12-14 deg F too high. Problem is that I can't find where the exterior sensor is to see whether it's a location problem or the sensor itself is a problem. After having to move the interior sensors because of bad install location, I suspect the same is true for the outside sensor and it needs to be isolated from the surrounding objects.

Anyone have any idea where this sensor is?

Call Tiffin Service and ask them. Tiffin Service is pretty good with customer questions. [Mod Edit]

It should be in the generator compartment, above the generator, attached somewhere close to the firewall.

Found it. Thank you.

That's an odd place to mount it since not only is it off due to contact during normal use, it'll be completely useless with the genny running. I guess I'll have to extend the wiring and move it.

From what I see on our '19 Phaeton 40IH, the exterior temp sensor and bay temp sensor are useless. Always 10-15 deg off.

I moved mine from the firewall to the left headlight bracket. Much better.

Did you screw it in or hang it by the wires?

Seems that the plastic housing is way too conductive so if you screw it in it's highly affected by the temperature of whatever it's attached to.

The plastic housing is not a good heat conductor and does not have a significant affect on temperature readings. What may affect the temperature readings is screwing down on the sensor housing too hard. Some have reported on other forums, though I cannot verify with actual data, that twisting and torquing the housing puts mechanical stress on the actual sensing mechanism within the housing resulting in inaccurate temperature readings. I tie wrapped my sensor to the air line in the firewall, allowing free air to circulate around it.
