Tiffin Ownership, First Time Buyer

Hello owners and experts. I am looking at this Ad for a used 36QSH. Anyone here have an opinion about buying a motorhome this old? They are asking $19K. Seems low for a Tiffin, but I am a complete neophyte (newbie). Any advice or suggestions would be most appreciated.

2008 Tiffin Motorhomes Phaeton 36QSH. Has only 46,000 miles, Diesel fuel, Cummings 360HP Engine,Allison 6SP transmission, 37 Length (feet), Automatic, Air Conditioners, 4 Sleeping Capacity, 4 Slide outs, Awnings, Generator. The RV is in perfect running and working condition, with no damage.

Link to Ad and pictures here.

Thanks!

The one thing I would check is how many hrs are on the generator. If it is low, like 600 hrs. you may have to have it worked on or replaced. Depending on owners records it might be good to take it to a Cummins service center and have engine looked at and serviced. Dave

There is no way this coach is $19K for a 2008 Phaeton DP. Got to be a scam.

Everything about it reeks of scam. The picture montage, the non-specific, word-salad, cumbersome prose even in the title, the email-only response, and the too-good-to-be-true price. That assertion about the title gives me the creeps.

He's probably after either hits on his web page or your email address. If you want to play the game, ask him for a picture of the build sheet in the cupboard door and a picture of the roof. Any legitimate seller would be happy to give you those. I'll give you dollars to donuts that he can't produce either one. If he can, and it's got an unbranded title, continue.

The NADA low retail for a 2008 36QSH Phaeton with 46,000 miles is $77,000 and high is $92,000. Run!

A couple of years ago, while looking for an rv, I contacted a seller They said to wire $10K and the coach would be shipped to me and I'd have 7 days to accept or reject. Didn't happen.

Scammers are just finding it harder so they are getting fancier. Photos appear to be from various models of Tiffin coaches and not a 36QSH. If you want to find out if this is real, ask the "owner" for detailed service records and a location where you can inspect the coach. Bet you won't get a response.

I hope you havent reached out on this yet. It's a total scam. Look in the middle of the list of names.

I googled the guy's email and found a lot of "scammer" results. Including the same guy's email address on other fake RV sales websites.

Probably a scam

Buying a 2008 Tiffin coach is okay. We bought a 2003 Allegro Bus 3 years ago. We really enjoy it but we did have to make quite a few repairs. So if you are purchasing a older coach be prepared for that.

I was going to mention that I think I've seen those couch pillows positioned exactly like that a few months back, in a different ad, but I wasn't 100% sure.

Also -- any ad for almost any used anything that claims the item is in "perfect condition with no issues" is suspect. C'mom.

Thanks for the heads up. Didn't seem right to me either.
