Tiffin Recall of 2017-2021 Bus & Phaeton Fuel leaks

https://www.consumeraffairs.com/reca...es-051821.html

Tiffin Motorhomes is recalling 3,198 model year 2017-2021 Bus and Phaeton vehicles.
The sealing washer may not seat correctly in the pilot bore, allowing the high pressure fuel rail assembly to leak.

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

What to do

The remedy for this recall is still under development.

Owner notifications are expected to begin June 19, 2021.

Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at (256) 356-8661.

Sounds like a Cummins recall since it is engine related. It might affect many other motorhome manufacturers as well.

I talked with Tiffin, and since I have a late model 2017, this Cummins recall will not apply to my coach. Thanks again for posting.

At Tiffin rally in Amana, IA. Both Tiffin and Cummins said letter from Cummins regarding recall should go out 6/18. Someone said parts should be available 6/24 (?). It is only replacing a washer.

Youall need to call Cummins. It is a Cummins recall. Not Tiffin. Jeff

Tiffin Recall

Following link fro NFTSA indicates this to be related to buses and Phaetons with a Powerglide chassis.

So, does the recall ONLY apply to Powerglide chassis and NOT Freightliner? Please advise.

If you have an L9 engine with the included build dates, it applies.

Just received out letter in today’s mail regarding this potential fuel leak issue which came from Cummins. No plan for repair yet and they just warn to be on the lookout for diesel fuel leaks. They also sent a QR scan to register your Cummins engine which I had not done prior. Assume they will now contact us once they decide what the repair process is for the high pressure fuel rail. I’ll try to post copies of the notices but haven’t posted photos before.

Could those Tiffin owners that have received letters please identify which chassis they have?

Rec'd my notice yesterday. It is a Cummins recall. My chassis is a FREIGHTLINER XCM, for my 2018 Phaeton 37BH. Cummins indicated they are formulating a repair schedule and will send out a plan when devised. In the meantime we are cautioned to keep an eye on the fuel rail for leaks. I have approx. 29K miles on my rig with no leaks. bje
