That's going to be up to you to decide, not for us to tell you. We've had two Dutch Stars and they are well made and will give you good service.

Both are very nice coaches it just depends on the floor plans that fit you best. 100K buys both good used! Just remember to compare apples to apples.

I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

As we have done our search we eliminated Tiffin and have narrowed our choices to Newmar and Entegra. There are several reasons we eliminated Tiffin from our list. There seems to be some recurring quality issues with some of the Tiffins. I'm sure that will generate the usual "I've had mine for X years and never had one issue" posts but I really don't want to chance getting a bad coach. Yes, Bob will take care of you if you want to truck off to Red Bay, AL. The desire or necessity to go to Red Bay for repairs is another deciding factor against Tiffin. Lastly, we found a rather heavy level of arrogance within some of the Tiffin dealers we contacted. For us, the field got narrowed down quite quickly.

A great source of Tiffin info is the Tiffin RV Forum. Great folks there and you will hear of the good, the bad and the ugly on that forum. I would strongly suggest spending some good quality time on that forum and then make your own decision.

If you asked what was better Cadillac, Lincoln or Mercedes you would be in the same kind of discussion. Find what suites you best at a price you can live with and you will be as good as it gets.

X2, I don't know who told you Tiffin was better, they are nice too but I wouldn't agree that they are better. We also found the Dealerships that carried the Tiffin franchise to be very arrogant and not really concerned about the customer. We almost bought a Tiffin, but there were several things from the factory that needed to be fixed. They told us it would take 2-3 weeks for the repairs, and they wouldn't even begin the repairs until we bought the MH. Just that along with other arrogant comments made us take a better look at the Newmars. Who wants to start their purchase off with the MH sitting in their repair shop for several weeks.

Once we looked at the Newmars again we never went back and we are so glad we bought the Newmar. We got a great deal, and with a little over 10,000 miles on it we have only had it in twice for minor adjustments and the micro wave recall. The two trips consisted of a total of 4 hours(not days, weeks or months) for the repairs and took it home the same day both times. The deciding factor for us was that Newmar seems to hold the dealers to a higher standard. We really love ours and with the service before and after the sale we would buy another Newmar without question.

Its not about floor plan - its about quality. (for the record I drive a Ford and really don't care for Caddys or Mercedes

Tiffin owners will probably say Tiffin and Newmar owners will more than likely tell you Newmar!

We also looked hard at Tiffin and came close to purchasing a RED. That deal fell through and after comparing the weight ratings we were glad it did. We wound up with a new to us '11 Newmar Ventana and could not be happier.

Look at the floor plans and which work best for you but also look at the weight capacities and consider how much stuff you'll pack in &/or tow.

Best info I can give is if you find either one at a Camping World location that is used, don't let them do any special package to clear coat unit and don't buy their extended warranty packages. Check unit over and if you buy it get out of there asap. Dave

No one has to go to Red Bay for repairs anymore than does a Newmar owner. This is so ridiculous. Mine has never had to go back to the dealer let alone the factory. If there was a major structural problem either coach would be in need of factory repair.
Biggest problem around my parts is Newmar dealers are far and few between.
I found Newmar gas coaches come with very few goodies that the others consider standard. I did not like the decors of Newmar but that is subjective. I'm sure both are the best from what I have seen compared to the other manufacturers.

I've been researching for awhile, I was impressed with Newmar until the dealer gave me a brochure and I found out that Newmar frames the floors using 2 x 3 pine joists. I feel that in 2015 there are better materials to use in construction. Most other manufacturers use materials that are less conducive to water damage and don't support mold growth. Please let me know if my concerns are not valid.
