We own a 2017 Wayfarer, so I am very interested in your post. Sounds like you have experience with other RVs and their "Essential Parts List". What types of items should be on the List?

Not that I've needed them myself (yet!) but I always carry an extra water pump and some pex line, pex cinch crimp clamps, and a cinch clamp tool. A square robertson screw head bit and a torx screw head bit set are required for tightening up anything that may come loose on the rig or in the chassis. A tire plug kit given there is no spare. A good tire pump that can push over 75 lbs vs those cheap little ones used by cars which only pump up to 32 lbs (and slowly). A roll of electrical tape and zip ties...
Best,
-Mark

I don’t carry any extra parts, per se. But, here are a few things (in addition to Mark’s list) that I think are essential:
Telescoping ladder (haven’t needed it yet, but can’t stand not being able to get up there if necessary)
Spare fuzes
Multimeter

I've been "up there" one time. My TV antenna was separated from my RV on one of our journeys, so I did a DIY low-profile replacement (Winegard Air 360). I cannot envision why getting on the roof is necessary, other than replacing antenna, AC, vent fans -- one time events. What am I missing?

To me, it’s just for insurance; I know I can get up there if necessary for an emergency repair, etc. You listed a number of reasons why one might need access to the roof, and one time you needed to get up there yourself! Earlier this year a large branch fell on the rv next to us. He used our ladder to get up there to remove the branch and check for damage. I guess it’s not essential - but it certainly gives me peace of mind.

Hi Yooper2
Absolutely everything that is essential eg.
Fuses - chassis + house fuses, bulbs, rubber engine hoses, filters, oils, lubricants, duck tape, spare length of hot/cold water plastic pipe + accessories, tools, torches, drill, telescopic ladder etc. etc. etc.
How do I find: "Mark's List"? Thanks! ☺
Hope that helps!

I get up on the roof at least twice a year to inspect the caulking and to reseal if necessary. I also get up to clean off the solar panels. One time to watch an amazing sunset and another time was to check the progress of an approaching wildfire.

Most important "nontangible"....KNOW YOUR WEIGHTS! The Wayferer is severely hampered by a virtually non-existent OCCC. Some models in the 600lbs range. Need to learn what GVWR, GCWR, GAWR FT & RR, OCCC and what effects them individually and all together. There are pages on this and other forums about weight, handling, safety and more. Before you think about "stuff", think about how you are going to operate safely and legally with the weight limitations...... and contrary to popular belief, the number are the LAW and not optional or open for interpretation...

We carry a spare water pump, spare cheater vent, full set of tools, folding ladder, air compresor, small set of screws and nails, plumbers grease, gorilla glue, electrical tape, gaffers tape, clear tape, drill, several overhead light bulbs, standard 120V extension cord, square and bag for all the stuff that falls off while we are driving.

Bob, could you go a little further in explaining the "non-existent" modifier to OCCC included in your recent post?
Also, the specs for my 2017 Wayfarer QW list the GVWR as 11,030 lbs. Where's the best place to get my RV weighed?
