tire pressure

I am fixing to install a TPMS in my 32SA (2018). Testing showed that the "extender" was needed to reach the rear wheels of the toad. I have the device (the TT 500 base system) extender and it suggests mounting it in the rear of the coach. I was thinking in the DS rear where the power stuff sits underneath.

Is anyone aware of a switched 12vdc wire (one that is only on when engine is on preferably) that can be found near the back? I had thought of going to the trailer hitch wiring but am hoping there might be something better inside. It appears to be better if it is only on when the ignition is on to prevent exciting the TMPS sensors while they sit unmoving...

Suggestions?

Unless you're also towing and have sensors on the tow vehicle, I doubt you will need to install the "extender" to monitor pressure on just your motorhome. I installed a TST TPMS on my 40ft Phaeton (266" wheelbase) without using the included extender and have had no problem monitoring all 6 tires.

I am using a tow-dolly and towing a 2011 Honda Accord. Was definitely having problems with the rear two tires and spotty issues with the tow dolly, probably related to angles and stuff between the front where I have the monitor, and the rear of the toad...

It did work just fine with the 6 coach wheels, as you said. But the two rear wheels on the Honda are way back there...

My '02 DSDP 4090 required the repeater to get the rear axle on the MH. I ended up potting a 12 volt plug on the wiring, plugging it on the recepticle in the bedroom and laying it on the bed. Worked fine there.
Some people don't understand that Newmar uses a lot of signal blocking steel and so a 40' might need a repeater/extender to pick up the rear axle like mine did.

Bob, when we had our Allegro RED I installed the extender/repeater in the AV cabinet in the bedroom. You can hook it to the 12v power in the cabinet for the HDMI repeaters. Your best option you've already mentioned is to put in in the rear under the back cap and tie it into the 12v line on the tow light plug. That's the way I've done it on our Phaeton since that power is only hot when the ignition key is on.
