Tire warranty

Hello, I have a 2015 Allegro red 37pa Motorhome. I had a front tire blow going down the road. I used my roadside assistance to cover labor on putting new tire on rig but they do not cover the tire it self. I brought the rig brand new so the tires only have 13000 miles on them. The sidewall now has a hole in it. My question is who warranties the tire. If anybody. Please let me know if you have any insite on this issue.
Thank you

That's bad luck. Glad you are OK.

What tires do you have and what's the date code? Sorry I can't help but with this info maybe someone can.

Out of curiosity; Did you know about not hitting the breaks when you have a blow-out? I'm just wondering how scary it was to have a steer tire blow out and if you have any tips.

Sorry to hear about your tire. I expect that, unless you have an extended warranty or service contract that does not exclude tires, the only remaining option will be to go to the tire manufacturer to discuss pro-rata warranty on the tire based on mileage driven to date. I think, though, that you will have to have evidence that this was a manufacturing defect vs. some other cause like running over something on the road or other similar reason. Also I am sure you will be asked at what tire inflation you drive. If you still have the tire, take photos of the damage and get see if you can get the tire shop to comment on the cause of the problem you experienced. Hope this helps. Good luck

My question is who warranties the tire.
That would be the tire manufacturer....Michelin.

They'll want to see the tire if you expect to make a claim, and since it's a sidewall blowout it may be because you hit a curb on the side, or a pothole. Doubt that they'd offer anything.

My only experience with a tire warranty was on my toad. A rear tire went flat caused by a large nail. Only had 5,000 miles. No warranty from tire manufacturer or vehicle maker. Tire maker said I did not register my tires with them when I bought the toad. Bought a new tire and registered all 4 tires for future warranty claims. Never had to make another claim.
In my Case Short story was must register tires with the tire maker to get a warranty when you buy the vehicle.

We had a travel trailer once that had a blowout. I called the tire manufacture and made a little fuss, along with the fact that we could have died, and they replaced not only the blown tire, but the rest of the tires too. No cost to me. My tires were under warranty, but most manufactures stand behind their tires. Worth a shot.

Yup, I guess it depends on the tire maker. We had a blow out on our previous 5th wheel that caused damage to the RV, not only did Goodyear pay for the tire but the damage as well.

There are two issues here from what I see.

First there would be a tire warranty, which generally covers defects in material and/or workmanship.

Second there is (or MAY be) road hazard coverage which with some exclusions generally covers damage to a tire from road debris, nails, etc.

A sidewall blowout is MOST OFTEN caused by damage to a tire from running over a curb or other debris in road, or over or under tire inflation, generally NOT caused by defect in material and/or workmanship.

That being said, if you don't have the tire still, all bets are off, I don't think you will get anywhere with manufacturer. If you purchased a road hazard plan on the tires, they should cover the tire. If you did not, I don't think the manufacturer will do anything, because, frankly, I don't think they did anything wrong. . . . Sorry to be so blunt, but sometimes things happen, and no one is really "at fault". So just be thankful no one was hurt, and move on!
