Totally put off by new Tiffin quality

Just spent the afternoon looking at the new Allegro Bus and Phaeton models at La Mesa. Is there any quality control at the factory? Within a minute we noticed not one of the multitude of led square lights was straight. I tried to straighten a few and the lenses fell off. Perhaps Tiffin should stick to the old round units. Hard to mess them up. The air vents look like my shower drain cover. Awful imho. Wood work not even close to my 5 yr old Allegro Open Road. Many cabinet doors were not level or straight.
What a sad state. Bob should be ashamed and his sons are certainly not upholding the company name.
Leaning more towards a 5 yr old Allegro Bus should I upgrade or another manufacturer if there are any that still have some sort of pride.

I can understand bitching about product here which will possible warn other customers however, it does absolutely no good other than relieving stress on your part. I'd suggest you write a letter to Tiffin explaining your concerns and suggestions. If "Bob" is as good as other Tiffin owners have said, he should respond favorably to your concerns.

Interesting because when I purchased a coach from La Mesa back in 2003, I complained that they, La Mesa made me the quality control inspector. When I purchased that coach, it had several things seriously wrong during the walk-through. In my opinion, La Mesa should have corrected the problem before the walk through but, they, and other dealers tell the customer "just bring it back and we'll fix it" thus placing the burden on the customer.

These should not even leave Red Bay in this condition. I'd be embarrassed if my name was on the garbage they put out.
Imagine what you cannot see behind all the smoke and mirrors.

I canceled contracts with deposits on two NEW 2018 Tiffins from LaMesa 3 months ago. One was shipped sight unseen from the San Diego lot. The second I drove down to Tucson after the first was such a failure.

Peeling paint along both sides, warped interior walls, cabinet doors damaged and crooked, etc, and SO much more!

I called Tiffin!!! I talked to Tim Tiffin and told him how bad both units were at walk thru. He said he would look into it and get back to me.... never called!!! I even told him I was still interested in purchasing another Tiffin unit if he could help me to locate one. He said he would talk to someone in some department to have them call me to see how they could help me...... no one called!

After all the Tiffin hype on this and other websites I thought I would change manufacturers. No Way!
Maybe they used to be better? Maybe that's not the case any more?

I bought another new Fleetwood after trading in my problem free 2016 Bounder. Had 29,000 miles on it with no extended warranty claims when I traded it. Best decision I ever made!

I've read the same posts since 2012 when we acquired our first Tiffin. And yet, Tiffin sells every coach it builds. Looking at coaches sitting on dealer lots that have not had their PDI done and are ready for delivery is a waste of time. We can all find minor flaws or things that need adjustment.

Everything you saw can be repaired, replaced, or adjusted. And I doubt very much they left Red Bay looking like that. Sitting on dealer lots is abusive.

I highly doubt light trims would get crooked or cabinet doors out of wack due to sitting on dealers lot or due to delivery drive. Believe me I have always been a Tiffin guy but in the last 2 years quality has sunk to a new low.

We went to the LaMesa RV Show at State Farm Stadium last weekend. One of the first things we also noticed in the new Tiffin coaches, was the new square "chrome look" ceiling vents. I agree with a previous post...they look like a shower drain.
One thing we have never liked about Tiffin coaches is the booth dinette. It is always so low and difficult to get in and out of. More appropriate for a child, or a very short adult. Freestanding table and chairs would be the only choice, for us.
Although the latest models seem a bit improved over past years, we have never found their sofas to be particularly comfortable either.

One other issue with many booth diners is how narrow some are. Can't even put 2 placemats across.

We really wanted a Tiffin in Summer 2017 when we went RV shopping. But everyone we looked at, and we went to multiple dealers, had obvious flaws. Then my wife started noticing the gaps at the bottom and top of the bathroom doors. Every one we went in she went and looked and found 5" or more gaps in the bottom and in the top of every door.

I told her not to worry, it was for ventilation. But she countered that all the other brands we looked at had about a 2" door/floor/ceiling gap. Maybe 3" at most. But Tiffin's had these huge gaps.

Once she got fixated on the door gap she dismissed every model Tiffin we saw. We ended up with a Winnebago Adventurer and love it. BTW, the gap at the bottom and top of the two bathroom doors is approx 2" on the Winnie we purchased.

Agree

I had more problems with my 2014 36LA Open Road then I ever had on my old 1999 Winnebago Adventurer. Now that all the 36LA problems have been addressed the Wife and I love it. Much more comfort, style, and features then we ever had in our Winnie. We are very happy with the 36LA. When we were at Red Bay getting some problems repaired (under warranty) we saw an awful lot of "New" coaches (2016s-2017s) waiting for repairs. Made me think I would not buy a new Tiffin or any other brand for that matter. I buy used and then fix whatever the first owner missed which usually isn't very much. You can search my posts to see some of the problems we have had to repair.
However, I would still buy another Tiffin!! Thinking seriously of moving to A DP but will wait until we put a few more miles on the 36LA.

I was in Red Bay this past Monday for Inspection on our new motorhome. I found several minor issues that needed attention.

Interestingly enough, most were cabinet related. Doors not level, doors rubbing, etc. I view these issues as minor as the hinges Tiffin uses are designed for adjustment. Should they be installed perfectly the first time? Absolutely. Is it a show stopper that they need adjustment? No. The hinges in our house cabinets are the same time and they needed adjustment also.

I view these type issues as cosmetic and minor. I would be much more concerned and vocal about expensive paint problems or reliability issues than the ones I found.

Should Tiffin be better in the manufacturing process? Yes, however, from a career in manufacturing management, I know that perfection is an unobtainable goal. Continuous improvement is more important.

Thanks for the post heathtx,
I would be most concerned about (regarding cabinets etc) things like poor joints and things being out of square and finish on cabinets being crappy. As well as bad tile work etc.
I have my eye on a '18 Allegro Bus 45OPP. I think it's one of, if not THE most well thought out coaches I've seen. I do wish it had a 500hp ISX though.......same thing Winnebago did with the Grand Tour 45RL, (450 ISL). But, the 450hp ISL is arguably one of the most reliable engines Cummins ever built.
I've only seen this 45OPP in pictures, but it sure looks nice.
