Trans Comm Failure Notification

I have a 2016 Tiffin 37PA that I periodically get a notification when starting the couch that there is a "trans comm failure" and the engine won't start . Took it to Freightliner and they ran tests via computer but they could not find what caused the fault.

Has anyone else had this problem.

Thanks Sir Isaac

What do you do go get it started when the problem occurs?

I would take it to Freightliner and have them take apart each connection in the canbus network between the engine and transmission. Inspect and reconnect. Chances are it's just a dirty or loose connector pin, and simply reseating it may fix the problem.

There is usually a large connection near the DS of the transmission. These connections are not always properly connected. On our Phaeton, I found the connection poorly done which would have allowed dirt and moisture into the connection. I actually had to use tie straps to pull the connection together, that’s how lousy it was.

On many MHs, with the Allison trans, there is a power wire, with an inline fuse, coming from the battery compartment, to the transmission.
The fuse holder is buryed in the harness but can get corrosion in it and cause problems.
