Trim

I have trim just behind the driver’s window that has become unglued, I thought it was cracked but the shop told me that it was held by tape. To repair it the trim would have to be taken off and new tape applied. They are looking for a way to remove it without damaging the paint. Any recommendation on how to remove it without damaging the paint? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Why take it all off? If you push, will it go flush with the side again? If so, I would just put a bead of adhesive caulk the complete length of the area that is open and clamp.

Using 2 faced tape was just done to quickly assemble it.

Thanks for all the post, The shop talked about using the caulk or double-sided tape to see if it would hold. Removing the trim was the last resort due to concerns about messing up the paint.

Looking close, it looks like the trim split. I think I still would just caulk and paint over.
