TV Problems

I have a 2015 Tiffin Phaeton. I am not able to get any television stations at all. When I put the input on TV and use autotune in settings, no channels are displayed or picked up- whether I use the booster for OTA on not for cable. The inputs for tv and cable as well as everything else except satellite are not active, and when I try to get anything I get a message that I have no connection. I am in a campsite next to a tree so my satellite isn't connecting either. The cable cord is connected properly from the pedestal to the coach. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong and what to look for to troubleshoot would be appreciated.

Make sure the splitter switch is on in the bedroom in the cabinet under the Tv. If that fails look for the Antenna/Cable switch in one of the forward overhead cabinets. Toggle it back and forth to see if it's stuck. Try the TV in each switch position. Last. Ask your neighbor if they have a signal. It may be your pedestal connection is dead. I carry extra cable and a splitter to jump to the neighbors pedestal. Good luck.

OTA - most likely there are no TV stations within range, or your antenna is not on and pointed in the right direction, or you have not turned on the OTA antenna power (green light on panel).

Cable TV - OTA antenna power left on, cable not plugged into proper port in basement (or basement port mislabeled, TV not reprogramed/rescanned for cable channels, no signal on the cable line in the campground.

You could also have a bad splitter (front, right side cabinet where the antenna controls are). Remove the front of the panel and be amazed by the number of wires. Splitters are back there and could be bad or loose connections.

The A/B switch is only used for satellite connections. Roof top antenna vs. tripod mount.

Did it work before this campground? If so, I would try connecting to another nearby pedestal to see if it works. You may have a bad campground pedestal. I didn't have cable in my RV then found out the "New" cable I had bought was bad. Try the simple stuff first as mentioned in earlier posts before looking further for component failure.

I had the same issue and my dealer tested the booster modules in the closet. They told me Tiffin was no longer using the type i had since they were failing alot. Replaces modules with newer/upgaded modules and all worked fine. This was over 1 1/2 years agoand all is still working great.

The "booster" modules in the closet are to transmit HDMI from the sat receiver and the DVD player to the TVs. These have nothing to do with Cable/OTA signals.

All I know is I could not get any channels after a scan. Replaced the modules, scaned for OTA channels and it worked. Never moved the coach. This took about 1 hour and I stayed at the the dealer.
