Valves camera mirror

I have a 2014 Allegro Bus. Recently the base plate support pivot (709707) to the mirror (719149) broke. The mirror glass is ok, I am trying to remove the mirror glass to replace the base plate. Any body know how to remove the mirror glass?

Mine was glued on one end, with slide in clip on the other. The glue was a soft silicone - like material. I had to carefully pry it loose, getting under it with a flexible blade. I think the instructions were on the company website.

I found it easier to take the whole thing down and work on the bench. Careful of all the wires! And it's heavy.

Best of luck!

If its like mine, the base plate is one piece behind the glass. You will not be able to just replace the stem,if that is where its broke. I ended up buying a full replacement mirror.

On a side note, This is what I did to temporarily get the mirror in service till the new mirror could be ordered. A short piece of 3/8 copper pipe to sleeve the wiring back thru to be able to use the mirror and camera functions. Drilled and tapped set screw on each side of the break, and some JB Weld at the joint. This held for several thousand miles, and is now my spare parts mirror.
