Water From Pump Not Working '05 Allegro DP40

I'm having trouble with the water system on my 2005 Allegro DP40. It works fine when hooked to city water. However, when I disconnect city water and switch on the water pump...nothing happens. The pump has power and actually comes on if I crack the fitting on the "out" or "pressure" side of the pump. Is there a check valve between the pump and city water inlet that may be stuck closed?

Another interesting fact that may be part of the problem. The "pump" indicator light only comes on when I turn on the switch by the kitchen sink. All three lights come on but only when you flip the switch by the kitchen sink. If you switch on the other two switches in the coach...the light does not come on.

Any input or information is much appreciated.

Welcome to irv2. Did you turn your city water valve off when you disconnected ? If not the water pump will not operate as designed.

Nothing last for ever.

I had the same problem with my water pump a few years back, it's located under our bed but I made a wooden cover for it so none of ours thing would interfere with the pump.
When I realize that it was not working I took a look at it and it was covered up with calcium and it was frozen and would not work so I had to replace it with a new one.
It was over ten years old.

Just a thought.

Welcome to IRV2.

On our 2006 Allegro Open Road there is a clear plastic filter in the line from the fresh water tank just before it gets to the water pump. Unscrew the cover and check to make sure the screen isn't clogged.

If you will check out the Tiffin RV network you can find a lot more info about the Tiffins from owners.

I have a 2005 allegro dp the pump on that unit will work no matter what position the valve is in.

I can tell you a bit about the 2005 pump electrical system I have a 38 foot dp
when you turn on any of the three switches that applies a ground to a solid state latching relay. This unit is on the left side of the bus in the water area right above the pump. There is a panel with switches and water connections etc that hides the tanks. The latching relay is a black fairly flat unit approximately 3 inches by 4 and I am not good at estimating size. It will have several wires that plug into it. this unit supplies the ground for the pump if I remember right and the hot wire for the pump goes directly into the pressure switch. You do not say but on my unit this went out and one of the indications was the pump would only come on when I held the switch closed when I let off of the switch it turned off. If it is only working with one switch there has to be a common wire where the switch for the sink. commode area sink and the bedroom sink are tied together. I am not sure where that would be but a call to tiffin could tell you. If your pump is working when one of the switches is pushed then the pump works.

I just reread your post and the only one switch working problem is electrical. But sounds like the other problem you have is something is not letting water from the pump into the supply lines to the various sinks, shower etc. I can turn my pump on when I am hooked to city water and get higher pressure because the pressure regulator on my city water hose is less than my pump so i know that the valve being in the city water position does not stop the pump from working.

I believe there is a check valve in the output side of the pump that could be stuck that sounds like the most likely problem
