Water pump failure 21 Tiffin 40IP - any tips?
We are overnight here in Beaumont TX... the Pentair water pump failed have checked the wiring, everything seems connected. Does anyone have any diagnostic tips. Have checked the security of the wiring we can see... I did change the water filter before we left on our current trip... It was working as usual for the last five days traveling from AZ... We drained and filled the white water tank while here, and when we turned a faucet on several hours later no water/water pump? Any ideas...?

If you have a City/Fill diverter in your city water inlet, perhaps you’ve left it in the Fill position??

So when you put your hand on the pump it's dead. Have you tried a 12V reset for the whole coach?

Along with the other great suggestions made by others in this thread, I would like to suggest confirming that there is 12V being sent to the pump. You can test with the pump switch turned on at the wet bay or when activated on the master keypad. The failure rate of those pumps is pretty low, but it could be defective.

If you have verified power to the pump, Take a wrench or small hammer and LIGHTLY tap on the pump side of the motor, not the motor side. The pressure switch is prone to failure and tapping is will sometimes get it to operate for a while. I carry a spare water pump just in case. Had to use it last week in Corning CA. Second failure in 15 years but lack of freshwater is one of those things that will ruin your trip. Takes about 15 minutes to change.
Happy Trails!

After confirming 12V between the pump supply and ground, or before, loosen the outlet hose and check for pressure. If the outlet has pressure, then the pump will shut off after one revolution and you won't hear anything until the pressure drops.

It could be a ground problem - maybe
We had a water pump failure. It was the first of several subsequent failures, including slide control. The fault was the loss of the ground wire for the control module in the bay under the drivers seat. The ground connection issue was suggested by the Spider team, because all the activation failures were controlled by that module. Connection of the ground wire to the ground buss returned all functions.

Water Pump Failure
Just replaced the pressure switch on our 21 Bus 37ap. Pump is a Pentair Shurflow model 4008-101-a65. Jumpered around the switch and pump worked. If this is your pump model then the part # 94-800-05. Download the replacement kit instructions at the Pentair website for the 4008.
The diaphragm between the pump and the switch failed on ours so water entered the switch which caused corrosion.
Good luck.
Bob

Water Pump failure... Thanks to all for good advice...
The pump tech that replaced my dead one... said to make sure that when using "City Water" it is best to turn off the electricity to pump....

Mine failed due to a faulty pressure switch. As stated earlier, if you bypass the switch and the motor runs, the motor is good and the switch needs replacement. I bought a whole new pump (not much more $ than just the switch) so swapped the switch onto the old pump and will have a new motor ready if and when the old one fails.

These pumps just die for no reason. Fortunately you can Prime one and except for the 40 yards of electrical tape they’re easy to replace.

Three things come to mind.
1 Is there 12 volts at the pump when it's turned on?
2 Did you check the fuse?
3 There is a small clear filter at the pump. Check for water as you may have lost the prime.
Good luck

Water pump
If you have power going to the pump and the pump wont work, for the few $ ($60-70 usually) and a little time, sometimes its less of a headache to replace than trouble shout.
