Water tank problem

I have a Phaeton 36' 2011 and have had it in for repairs on a water issue several times. The dealership claims they have fixed the problem but it still exist. When hooked up to city water the water holding tank fills up and the spills out the overflow leaving a wet mess. Anyone else have this issue and if so what solutions have you found. Thanks

It sounds like the check valve on your water pump is malfunctioning allowing water to flow backwards into the FW tank. This can be a common problem, and many install a shutoff valve between the FW tank and the water pump to avoid this problem.

Water tank problem

Thanks for the info. Should that be a manual valve that I turn or is it like a check valve that will not allow water back into the pump?

You can either rebuild or replace your water pump. The shut off valve should be installed on the intake line from the water tank to the pump. You could use a check valve or a standard ball valve to do this.

Then all you have to do is memorize this: "City water on; water pump off" and the problem should not happen again.

Surprised yours does not have the shutoff valve, ours does.
