Wayfarer generator exhaust pipe

The generator exhaust pipe on my 2021 Wayfarer keeps giving me trouble. It appears that it was tightened too much at the generator side, and it keeps coming loose and then hitting the ground, which has led to a leak from the fuel supply line twice. I also occasionally travel in areas with steep inclines, which makes it prone to hitting the ground. Is there any reason I can't replace it with an exhaust pipe that doesn't bend down (towards the ground) as much? And if not, where could I buy such an exhaust pipe?

It's a metal pipe so can be bent somewhat. As long as it's not crushed or crimped so the exhaust is blocked off, it can be bent as much as you want.

You can stop at a muffler shop and they can help you with it. They can also provide leather/steel clamps that you can add to the pipe so that it doesn't drop. I've done that in the past with my droopy generator exhaust and it worked out fine. It was a shop way out in the boondocks I'd just happened by during my travels. Didn't cost hardly anything.

Only a u-bolt clamp to mount it and no support at the end?

Yes, that is how it has been since I've owned it. Maybe other Wayfarer owners can chime in with how it set up for them?

Need a better connection, a flex coupling and a hanger near the end of the pipe.

Correct. Maybe the pipe support was left off at Wayfarer but you definitely need one. If you don't have the mechanical skill, or don't want to do this, a muffler shop could install a generic pipe hangar. It's a very basic operation.

I am having a hard time finding 1.25” flex couplers - looked at a bunch of places online and auto supply stores. Any recommendations?

The clamp on the Genset side looks like it may be a bit too big and could have been put a little closer to the generator. Also like others have said a hanger at the exhaust tip would help solve some of the problems.
