What is this? used for?

Working on the coach and found this and have no idea what its for. It says non pressure water and when the cap is off it looks like it can be filled up. Hmmm.

Freshwater fill. Could be used when boondocking and have extra water jugs. Usually just used to add bleach, etc. to sanitize fresh water system.

Yep, two ways to get water into fresh tank - the gravity fill you have discovered and the pressurized fill in the wet bay which fills by flipping the lever in there.

Having a gravity fill is a bonus. My first class A had one. Second one doesn't. Nice to have the option, especially for boondocking.

If the cap is off, it also makes a nice waterfall on your patio side if you overfill your fresh tank. Ask me how I know.

Thanks everyone for the quick replies. It makes sense now that you explain it.

I have a 5 gal plastic "jerry can" with a spout that I can use to add water through this fitting at state park campgrounds where there are only a couple of spigots per loop.
