What’s this above slide out
We have put a deposit down on a 2022 bus 45opp. When looking at the pictures I took, noticed some paint missing/ bubbling above the passenger side front slide. Any ideas what this might be? We won’t be able to see the bus again till Saturday.
Also, looking at the 2022 brochure, the backsplash tile is not pictured as an option. Wonder if this was custom ordered?
Thanks

Good Morning and welcome to the Tiffin Family! Looking at the picture it looks to me like the missing paint is due to sealant cracking along the gutter rail. To resolve this concern repainting then resealing that area would be the best way to combat this concern.
It is very possible the 45OPP you are looking at was a retail order with some customization made to it. You are always more than welcome to call our tech support or parts support team to learn about what this specific VIN was ordered with or without.

I have a 2022 40IP.
That is paint popping off of whatever sealant that Tiffin uses there. I am sure that it is paintable sealant - I am also sure that Tiffin does not let it cure long enough before painting over it. You will see that on a lot of Tiffin's of that year - including mine.
That particular backslash is part of the Ralph Lauren interior upgrade package.

That’s pretty typical, that joint moves and just pops off the paint. It may be nothing that a little touch up paint can’t fix but make sure the sealant has not been damaged or pulled away.

Typical? - it shouldn't be.
These machines are designed and built to roll down the road taking us where we want to go.
A joint should not flex to the point that it pops paint in a 2-3 year old coach.

I had the same thing on my Phaeton. It's painted sealant. I cleaned the full length careful not to damage the fiberglass roof, and caulked it again with Black Dacor non leveling Sealant. Looks great and doesn't peel.

There's an aluminum piece that goes down each side above the drip rail that holds the top to the sides. The paint is not sticking to the aluminum. Professional fix at body shop in Red Bay is $1,200 for both sides.

The decor is Art Deco in the '21 brochure. Assuming yours is a '22 model, they probably ordered it that way because it was still available.

paint leading to other issues
We had the same issue with the paint coming up . What we didn't know was that manufacturing issue lead to a water leak that we spent $$$$$$ looking for. When the paint popped off the skin it also broke the silicon seal along that edge covering screws. We also discovered the screws had no sealant in the threads. The bus had always been stored indoors so no water leak was evident. when we purchased the bus.
During rain storms water would weep thru the screw then crawl across the ceiling and come out a light ... the water entered 10 feet away from the leak. We spent a fortune finding that issue.....
Just sharing you might want to get that one fixed....

Appreciate all the responses. I have to say, coming from a 40 footer, that this thing is HUGE. Both inside and outside.
