Cool What type of caulking used on Tiffin gutter rails??

Up on the roof, winterizing and noticed 1 side at top of wall where the gutter is attached to the side wall up where it is rounded (but not on the roof). I have 75% caulking failure, pretty bad. There are bolts attaching the gutter to the wall, need to replace with new caulking/sealant and then assuming I have to paint over with black metal paint. I contacted our local Tiffin dealer in Portland, and they said you have to use white, and paint over it. I am pretty sure, from the looks of what I have to replace, it was black sealant used. Any suggestions as to what to use? I would really prefer to use a black silicone type of sealant so I do not have to paint the entire gutter on that side. I did buy a nice black metal paint and primer, if needed, but would not rather do that.

It just seems like black on black silicone is better then white on black. The less painting on black metal, the better.

Did the dealer actually say to use silicon? That's a big no no on both fiberglass and TPO or rubber.

I'm curious what Tiffin says, because my dealer used black silicon on mine and suggested I keep some on board.

Tiffin has always used Dicor self leveling on flat sections of roof. Painted over to match radius rails and drip rails. Clear silicone on vertical surfaces, windows, doors etc. Be Careful using silicone, as nothing will stick to it, not even more silicone sealant.

Sikaflex is a great product, I have used the black on my Allegro Bay on the same areas, very easy to work with. Can be painted if needed. Stays pliable once cured.
