Where are the GFCI Outlets?

We just purchased a used 2011 Tiffin Phaeton 40’ QTH. None of the 120V AC outlets are working. I suspect that a GFCI outlet has tripped. Where are they? I see one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom. Both are OK. Is there another one somewhere? The breakers are all OK, fridge and microwave have power. Any ideas?

1. Did you push the TEST button on both GFCI outlets?
2. Did you reset both outlets?
3. In your electrical panel, breakers can LOOK okay but be tripped.
4. Turn all your breakers OFF, then back ON.

Report back with your findings.

GFI receptacles will not reset unless there is power to the receptacle. Check the breakers on the inverter also.

There’s another gfi in your wer bay high up on the back wall. You’ll have to bend way down and look up to see it. Should have another under the passenger slide out. Lastly there should be one in the back panel by the breaker box.

Only outlets near water or outside are required to have GFCI protection. More likely you a have an inverter problem particularly if the TVs are also not working.

Do you have 120v power to the microwave and refrigerator? Those are not GFCI outlets so if they are not working you don't have a GFCI problem. Do you have power with the generator or shore plug? As noted, check the push button circuit breaker(s) on the inverter body. You should have a GFCI in the wet bay that hasn't been mentioned.

I meant to mention, the TVs are all working too. I just purchased a voltmeter and an outlet tester. I'll be heading out to investigate further, this morning.

I found the tripped GFCI and reset it. All good. The next problem is that I discovered it trips when the engine and generator are off. Next step is to replace the GFCI itself and if it’s still not working properly, i.e., tripping, I’ll take the next step. Which may be looking at the imverter.

You might just have a bad GFCI outlet but .....just a suggestion...before you replace the GFCI outlet, might check first , how many electric items are on that circuit thats tripping. You can overload the system with two many items on the circuit which will cause it to trip. Also, I would go around the room and unplug each electric appliance connected to that circuit, one at a time. A bad appliance can cause it to trip. Example. I had a GFCI outlet tripping and I looked everywhere. I finally found that I had a bad ice maker in my refrigerator that was tripping the GFCI. The ice maker had its own plug that was plugged into the house circuit, which affected the GFCI outlet. Just a thought.
