Where is my WifiRanger

Hi! We just bought our Wayfarer and it comes with a WiFi Ranger. I found the sticker for the WiFi Ranger but I can't find the switch or the device to plug in. Does anyone know where the WiFi Ranger is?????

Thank you !

I have WiFi ranger on my 2019 Miramar. I havenít been able to find the device except for the antenna on the roof. Maybe thatís the whole thing. It comes on automatically when I turn the coach main switch on. I donít think there is a manual switch to turn it on or off. After turning on the coach main go to the WiFi settings on your cell phone, computer or electronic device and look for it. Hopefully that helps you out.

The box on the roof is the entire device! It isn't just an antenna; it is a complete, self-contained router. The fact that it may not have a separate swtich is something that the RV manufacturer is responsible for. WiFiRanger makes the device, but the RV manufacturer installs it in the RV. Some provide switches, some do not.

Thank you! On my instructions it tells me to look for the switch and I've been looking everywhere for that little thing! I tried to just move forward and actually look for the device and it was there! Thanks so much for the help!

My 2020 TW WiFi Ranger is hardwired, no switch.

That's not really a problem. If you ever have to do a "factory reset" with timed reboots, you would have to find a way to kill power to the Ranger, maybe by removing a fuse.

No, not a problem, I removed mine and taped off the power wires.
I put a solar panel there instead.

I wonder what evil person put "find this switch" as step number 1 on my instructions. They are probably having a terrific laugh knowing people are spending hours looking for that thing. Glad to have this forum!

thank you.

I looked at a 2021 Tiffin Open Road 32SA that I'm getting ready to purchase. The Wifi Ranger had another box I think it was called the router (the ethernet cable plugged into it) it was approximately 1" thick and a 4"x4" square. It was located in a cabinet above the passenger seat.

With all due respect BOTH the box on the roof AND the one inside the cabinet were complete, self-contained routers. WiFiRanger has always used a system architecture in which a roof-top router is works together with one inside the RV. It is possible to have either rooftop or indoor routers by themselves, but combining the two gives the system better performance and versatility .
