Whining noise when brake ..

I have a 2014 36LA and have noticed when I have my brake pedal de-pressed and trying to shift into park we hear a loud whining noise

DW says it is similar to an "old fashioned Iuga OR Aruga horn (sp) if you can remember what that is

On some forums I have heard that it could be an electric brake boost pump.

There has been a recall on F150 trucks ( 2013-2014)

No recalls that I can find on a F53

Another hint is that it appears to start after I have been driving for a while, stop and then shifting into park

My 2014 36LA on the F53 chassis does the same thing. Makes the noise everytime when applying brake before starting the engine and sometimes shortly after making a left or right turn then never happens again until next startup. Checked brake fluid levels all ok. Brake Pads are fine. Brakes work great. Just living with it since I can't find anything wrong but it is curious why it happens. It sounds like a pump noise. No recalls that I can find. My old 1999 F53 chassis did not do this.

Have you looked on the F53 chassis forum?

That is probably the brake booster pump. It's wired so that the pump runs even with the key off. I had the same thing on my Workhorse gas chassis and took a while to figure out what it was.

I was talking with a fellow MH owner who said he had the same issue when he had a gasser, he didnt seem to think it was a problem

On my last run I didn't hear it on the last leg up into the mts

Other posts have confirmed it is a brake booster pump. Nothing to worry about.
