Whirlpool res fridge ice maker winterization

Does anyone know the place to jump power to the ice maker water solenoid? I did the antifreeze to the water and ice maker both. I thought there was a place to insert a solid wire to activate the water valve in the ice maker. Any suggestions as to how to winterize a res fridge?

Force cycle the ice maker. If you remove the front cover (it should pull off) there is a large gear,, You turn it clockwise till it runs on it's own. Fridge may need to be on to make it do this.

And yes, I know how jump power to it , but last time I did that I had to replace the solenoid come spring.

On my whirlpool residential refrigerator there is a cover outside the motorhome behind the refrigerator. I take the cover off (4 screws) and have access to the solenoid and water shutoff valve. I disconnect the water line from the solenoid and blow it out with air, then reconnect it to the solenoid and use the jumper wire to open the valve and blow out the line to the ice maker with air. You could do it the same way with antifreeze.

Our 2015 40QBH has a Maytag refrigeratou. No outside panel. I could not get the ice maker to make ice with the pink antifreeze. Called Tiffin and the Tech said that the ice making cycle takes more time than I assumed. We turned the pump on, turned the refrigerator on and came back several hours later. Success!

Some have a gear, some have holes that accept a jumper wire, and some have the holes but nothing for the jumper to contact.

My ice makes falls into the latter category, so I installed a toggle switch on the back that will allow me to override the ice maker solenoid.
