Wi-Fi router

We completed our first trip in our new Open Road 36LA. I need help with the Wi-Fi router (open road mobile). We were unable to hit the router followed the directions to no avail. My question is two fold; one can I use it without paying for their monthly plan if so how. Thanks for the help in advance.

I have no experience with open road mobile specifically. When you say hit the router are you talking about logging into the router via WiFi or connected via a cable from your computer? Are you trying to manage the router or use the connection to the internet? If connecting to the router for management it can be done via wifi you will see the new router in a list of available networks. login is usually username=admin password=password or admin. Once connected you can change the username and password after you write the new one down. If connecting to the router via cable to computer. Open a browser and the manual should have you use 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.50.1 which will open the login page. As far as using the service without paying the monthly fee. It depends if the cellular service is separate from their service. A quick search of their website shows you are buying cellular service that you use to access the internet. I buy my cell service (AT&T) but don't pay anything to the company where I bought the hardware. Yours might be tied together to offer one solution. It would be helpful to know the router you are using and level of comfort on this topic. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Thanks for the info. I was trying to access through Wi-Fi. It was showing up but from there I tried everything I know to do via the instructions. I’m taking the rig to the dealer on Monday for some warranty work I will ask them for help on this. Thanks again for your help.

Similar problem

I had a similar problem with my WiFi Ranger and had to contact the WIFI ranger folks who sent me a PDF file via email on how to do a system reset. After the reset the system worked as directed.
