The cabinets on each side of the TV at the front on my motorhome where I have my DVD/VHS player on one side and my Satellite receiver on the other, both have wooden doors. It has always bothered me that I have to leave them open in order for my hand remotes to work.I would be interested to hear from others that have been annoyed by this, and how they might have dealt with it. The motorhome I had before had smoked glass doors, so the ultra-violet remotes worked fine.

Clifford, I could not agree more with this problem. I also would like to see a fix for this. Right now I am doing the same as you and keeping the door open anyone have any ideas?

we have a 2004 bounder , we have the smoked glass doors, maybe the are the same size and would fit the southwind? i have to leave mine open though because it gets hot in there , the direct tv reciever gives off a lot of heat.

We have a 2004 Southwind and were told due to heat they had to be kept open. I wish there was another way myself and wonder why they did not put vents in there. Love our unit however. We are full timers and in FL for the winter, will go to the Midwest in April/May and head to Oregon for the summer.

Check out the doors for the Excursion- they have smoked glass and also have a nice decorative screening in the front along one side to allow for air circulation so you can leave them closed all the time.
