'06 Excursion heating issues
Hello Folks,
I'm back again looking for info...thanks for your help. 2006 Fleetwood Excursion...3 slides. From my previous question I now know I can run down the road with the furnace on. My owners manual says this will heat the holding tanks in cold weather. Yesterday I started the furnace in my driveway with the slide rooms in. There was a round outlet in the wall across from the shower blowing heat, but couldn't find it anywhere else. Is it supposed to also come out of the vents in the bottom of the two sofa's ?? Did I miss another vent somewhere ?? Nothing in the owners manual for the furnace that indicates location of vents.
Appreciate all responses...I'm learning a lot
sincerely
j.j.

I would say that anywhere you have a floor or baseboard vent you should have heat blowing. I believe the sofa vents are part of the heater system, though our RV doesn't have those. Did you put the slides out to see if some vents were covered? Does your moho have two furnaces?

Glen 2005 fleetwood expedition on mine the vent you mentioned Is heated by the rear gas heater. Should be a vent in bath and in bedroom.. That unit also heats tanks. The front gas heat uses the sofa vents and other vents in the front of RV. This would be your gas heat I am referring to.. Best to ya!! Glen

On our 2008 Excursion 40E, the heater vents are low. They are at the bottom of the kitchen cabinets and dresser. There is also the pair behind the love seat.

Our 38L has two furnaces. One has vents in bathroom and bedroom as well as one for the tanks in the basement.
The front heater has vents in the front of the love seat by the floor, one in the baseboard under the sink, and one back by the refrigerator which we had to relocate when installing conventional refrigerator.
Check your other rear vents to see if air is coming out. If not your vent tubes may disconnected or smashed.
It sounds like your front furnace was not functioning. Check your thermostat controller and be sure that zone 1 (front furnace) is turned on to gas. If it is, make sure that the temp is set right. If it is then you may have a problem with the lighting mechanism of the front furnace.
Good luck.

Our 38d has two furnaces, zone one heats the bedroom, bath and shower rooms and the basement. The front heater zone two heats kitchen and has two vents under sofa. If cold while traveling I only use zone two as the toilet seat is heated.

That's funny. Our zones are reversed basically on the same unit. Could be just a reversal of the way the wires are plugged in to the panel.😛

Ditto. Our Zone 1 is the front of the coach; Zone 2 the rear on our Bounder.

Many Thanks to all of you who responded to my post. Yes indeed I'm learning a whole lot here. Did not know there were two heating unit in my coach...zone 1 & zone 2. Zone 2 was working at the bathroom !! But when I figured out that there was also a furnace at zone 1...Alas !!! It didn't work. Called Atwood and sat on hold for 35 min....so much for that. Went to Youtube and found lots of helpful videos..One in particular caught my attention. Fan has to come on first to clear heat chamber. Well mine did not. Unplugged the fan motor wires and tried to turn with my fingers. NADA ....got out my trusty LEDE flashlight and discovered a mud dobber had made itself at home in the fan cage ( possibly several years ago....I think previous owner just used heat pumps ) After dis-logging the mud clump and breaking it up, I plugged the wire back in and voila !! the furnace came on !! AND it blows out from the vents under the front sofa..very comfy.
Over 8 of you folks responded with sound advice to my post. I wish you and all the members herein a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Healthy New Year. We are headed to Ruskin FL Dec 28th for our very first vacation in our coach....very excited
