110 hot water heater isn't working

In my '15 40x when I turn the 110 hot water heater on the red light beside the switch flickers then stays off and on the monitoring panel it show 0 Amps for the hot water heater. The breaker under the midship tv is turned on. Is there a fuse or another breaker somewhere that I haven't located?

Get a cold water heater instead just like everyone else has. They are much more common.

Not sure about a fuse, but if the back of the water heater is accessible, put an multi-meter set to ac volts on the two terminals of the heating element. Should read 110 volts with the switch on.

If it does, than problem is probably the heating element. Turn the switch off, (better yet, unplug your coach from shore power), remove both wires, put the multi-meter set to ohms and check the continuity between the two terminals. Not sure what it should read, but what you are looking for is a direct open, ie; no continuity, or a burnt out element. If you read an open, than bad element, replace, attach wires, and you should be in business.

If no voltage at element, than problem is wiring, switch, or that circuit breaker or fuse that you are looking for!

P.S. it COULD also be the temperature sensor is bad, but less likely . . .

Just a thought. M I'll be did the same thing the other day. Mine was the thermistat cuttoff silinoid. It's located on the front of the water heater. It's a little silinoid with 2 red terminals on it with a clear piece of tubing over it. Unplug the silinoid and direct plug the wire back into the water heater. Then see if it works. The parts are $37 bucks for the kit. Which comes with 2 silinoids. But radio shack and eBay have same ones for $1.75 and you have to crimp the ends on but big savings.

In my 11 Expedition the 110v side of the water heater has failed me twice. One was a wiring issue, one was an issue with temp sensor. Both had scorched parts involved at the back of the unit. Hope this helps and good luck.

We took the wires off at the hot water heater and put them back on and now it seems to be working. Thanks for your help.

I guess I spoke too soon. The red light stays lit now but still no hot water. If I turn it off and back on the light won't stay on. If I remove one of the wires off the spade by the heater and put it back on then the light by the switch lights up but still no hot water. Guess I'll use the LP heater for this weekend.
