12V Main/Aux disconnect off when starting generator?

To prevent the generator from starting under load should I turn off the Main/Aux disconnect switches? I understand regarding the shore power off as cautionary.

No, the switches you mention are 12 vdc side of things, just don't have large AC loads, such as a/c units running, heaters........etc.
