Disconnect the step controller at the steps and see if the engine starts.

If the coach batteries are charged and the chassis batteries are not charged, here is a possible problem. When plugged into shore power, the coach batteries are charged, the chassis batteries are not. For the chassis batteries to receive the charge, the coach batteries must be charged to at least 13.3 amps. When that happens, the Big Boy relay opens and the chassis batteries will receive the charge. When driving the charge is reversed with the alternator charging the chassis batteries, and when they are at 13.3, the Big Boy will open and the coach batteries will receive the charge.

This all started after I replaced the 2 engine batteries after that won’t start then i noticed that I had bad house batteries replaced them no start. 6’new batteries & 900 $ later still won’t start . For some reason the steps won’t operate . I can however hot wire starter to get it running everything seems to be fine then but the steps. I have read two other posts with the same problem but they never said how they fixed the problem . Thanks

Are you sure the disconnect switches next to the passenger seat are turned on? Mine has 2 disconnect switches there.

Addressing 1st issue -No Start- There is a Start Solenoid activated by your key on Start Ign Switch - This solenoid activates the Starter You need to locate this Solenoid and confirm it operates when the Ign Sw is turned to Start
Usually in the Eng compartment by the frame rail Pass Side- Confirm it has B+ in constant and B+ out when turned on-
