1996 Eagle interior ceiling lights.

Went into it the other day and both front ceiling lights didn’t work. Pulled the covers and wiggled the tube and they came on. All were black on one end so I replaced them with direct install led tubes. Had the switch on when installing and they all lit up(lot brighter than original). When I left I turned them off and when I turned them back on nothing. Don’t think it is the switch as other associated lights come on. Can a bad ballist cause this problem? Anybody up graded them to another style? Thanks

When you say "direct install" do you mean LED tubes that are used as direct replacements for flourescents without the need to bypass the ballast?

If the answer is yes and it were me I would drop the light fixture and check that you are getting 12vdc on the inlet.

Cheers
Wayne

No need to replace ballist, direct plug and play. Heard that some older ballist won’t work with plug and play led bulbs.
