1998 Fleetwood Southwind Restoration
Any pointers from the gallery on restorations of my Fleetwood? Having trouble firing up the furnace...the blower works and it sounds of firing but no heat. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem with my RV. It turned out to be the Sail switch. A $10.00 part.

The blower kicks on, ten seconds later I can here the clicking of the igniter.

Yes, the stove and the fridge works with the same valve.

I checked the sail switch thinking it may be dirty, practically dust free, still no firing. Was your sail switch bad or just dirty?

If its getting to the point that you hear the igniter clicking, This means the sail switch is OK and it is attempting to lite.
Listen carefully at the furnace for a loud "CLICK' of the gas valve opening. This will happen about ten seconds after the blower starts. The igniter will start clicking at the same time. (NOTE - The ten second delay with the blower running is the furnace performing a PURGE cycle to clear any combustion gasses out of the furnace.)
Its not unusual for these gas valves to stick, so give it a good wrap with a screwdriver handle. Especially if the furnace hasn't been used in a long time.
If you have a voltmeter, when the igniter starts clicking, check for 12 volts on the gas solenoid, If you have 12 volts, this means the controller board is trying to energize the gas valve. If you don't get 12 volts,, you have a bad controller board.

Would it also not fire if his vents are clogged?

If the vents were clogged, the airflow wouldn't be sufficient to move the sail switch. If the sail switch doesn't move, the gas valve is not opened and the igniter isn't turned on.
The fact that the igniter is triggering say the sail switch is being activated.
