1999 American Tradition Slide Cover

Hello everyone. Have any of you had to replace slide cover assembly due to parts not available to repair original? My main slide cover has a broken spring and Carefree of Colorado told me my only option is to replace entire cover. Problem is original brackets don’t match up with new options. I could build some brackets to adapt but not sure if that’s the most efficient strategy. I’d like to avoid removing original bracket attached to slide and screwing up the finish. Wondering what others have done.

I've replaced the slide cover and rewound the spring on my 99 eagle, it looks like a standard awning type spring?

I wonder if once you got it a part of a garage door repair guy could match it up?
Or call some other manufacturer to see is you can get it buy measurements....
