1999 Fleetwood American Eagle

I just recent bought a Fleetwood American Eagle motorhome. The airbags don't seem to be inflating and I have found an air leak under the front fold down cover near the front bumper. I have tried to get someone to repair this problem and the RV Company I use says they can't work on it and needed to go to place that specializes in semi-trucks. So I call them up and they said they don't work on anything older than 10 years. So now I have nowhere to go.

Lines leaking?
Do you hear compressor loading?

The leak is right under the front fold down panel above the front bumper. I can hear it and feel it. It is coming from around the press fit connector that connects a short 1 ft piece of red air hose. I do not hear any compressor loading nor does the bus rise up any.

What state are you located. I am located in Western NC and could fix this issue for you if its worth your travel time and labor rates.

I doubt if that's causing your air bag problem but a leak still needs to be fixed. Have you tried some other heavy truck shop? I've not encountered age-related rejections at independent shops.

The most common air bag inflation issue is the ride height valve and it's adjusting lever. A pretty simple fix in most all cases.

Is that '99 a Gillig chassis? Or Spartan?

Well, if push comes to shove you can go to Spartan Factory Service (in Michigan), but check around the Spartan-authorized service list at https://spartanrvchassis.com/owners/service-support/

Or try some other truck service centers. Air suspension repairs are common stuff.

I have a 23 year old RV, and I have two local shops in my area that will work on my rig. I had all 4 airbags replaced plus work on the ride height valve. Nothing was ever discussed regarding the age of my RV. Keep searching for an independent shop.

Unless my eyes deceive me the Parker junction block you've pictured , appears to be cracked .

With red lines , into and out of the block , it's probably in line before the brake treadle valve , so all pressure would leak out , not allowing pressure to build in the tanks , to the point where the suspension would fill and raise the coach ( 70 PSI )

Can you contact Spartan with your serial number and the Parker number and see about getting a replacement ?
Spartan Motor Home Support ; 1-800-543-4277

The part looks like a straight forward replacement ; are there any mobile mechanics in your area.
I have two Spartan air system diagrams I'll try looking them over for a part name for this item.

Can you have a close look to see if the place I've marked with a yellow arrow is in fact a crack in the housing and the source of your leak.

Parker Pneumatic P/N ; ORB 00002 comes back as a quick release valve .

The Parker web site no longer shows this as a good number , or an up date for it .

I believe it's in your park brake system , to vent pressure from the park brake release chamber and apply the park brake .
The diagrams I have of Spartan air systems show a Midland quick release .

I found the part available on Amazon , part numbers differ by thread size of the fittings .

If you have a Fleet Pride truck parts store near you, I had very good luck finding air ride and air brake parts. Just take the old part to them and they can usually match it up with something that will work as good or better.
